Title: Should I Leave a Review After a Difficult Check-In Experience on Airbnb?
A recent trip turned into a challenging check-in experience when I couldn’t enter the apartment building because the host’s dial pad wasn’t answering. I waited about two hours in a busy urban area, then contacted Airbnb. After 30 minutes of attempts to reach the host, Airbnb canceled the booking and issued a full refund.
My question is whether I should leave a less-than-stellar review. The host was aware of my late arrival, but my flight was delayed, making the arrival later than planned. It would be helpful to have a note or policy about late or after-hours check-in to prevent this situation.
From one perspective, I understand the extenuating circumstances. On the other hand, I was without a car, relying on rideshares in a dense city, and ended up outside the building until about 1 a.m. before finally securing a hotel for the night.
