Got a 1-star review tied to a neighbor situation involving race

A guest left a one-star review after claiming the neighboring residents were “sketchy.” Those neighbors turned out to be a Black family who were also Airbnb guests hosted in the HOUSE next door.

When I contacted Airbnb to point out that the reviewer’s characterization of the neighbors as “sketchy” was unfair and that the neighbors were legitimate guests, the platform refused to remove the review even after three requests. They even suggested I should filter my guests or warn others that next door there might be racially diverse guests.

Is this real life? Should I escalate this to a civil rights group or similar organization? It all feels unethical and has left me angry.
